| The past fourteen years in review:
During 1999 trips were made to VP2V and FG netting 12,800 overseas QSOs. However in 2000 things went beserk when trips were made to S79, FH, FW, (all with G3SXW) FM and J3G (with G3TBK and G3WVG) resulting in nearly 33,000 overseas QSOs. During 2001 there were trips to VK9C (with G3MXJ and G3SXW) and ZL7 (with G3SXW), plus a jaunt up to Shetland for CQWW CW as part of MZ5A (with G3WVG), bringing the overseas QSO total in the year to just over 20,600. 2002, on the other hand, was a quiet year with no overseas trips, but over 15,300 QSOs were made as G3TXF from home. During 2003 there were two major overseas trips: VP2E + FS/p in March and KH2 + V6 (with G3SXW) in September. There was also a small trip to OE9 in August. 2004 started off with short trips to CU4, OE9 and VP9 in quick succession, followed by a major trip with G3SXW to Cameroon (TJ3G) in April, and then, again with G3SXW, to P29 in October. 2005 started off with a short trip to CU7 in April. In October a trans-Pacific trip was made with G3SXW to Nauru C21. However overall 2005 was a relatively low-activity year with just 18,900 QSOs in the log. There were two short trips in early 2006 : a day-trip to ZB2 and a second visit to FH. In summer 2006 a short trip to the 4O3T operation in Montenegro. In September a trip was made with G3SXW to FP. 2007 was a busy year, starting off with solo trips to 3B9 and V25, followed by operations from FY, OY and as a guest-op at 1A0KM, all with G3SXW. August saw a brief solo trip for WAE-CW to PJ2. And then in November a trip to JW, again with G3SXW. 2008 started with a trip to the recently new DXCC entity FJ. In February took part in the Kosovo YU8/OH2R operation. In March a solo trip to VP5 for BERU. Two trips in April: one to OE5 and then part of the five-op UK team at YK9G. August saw a brief operation from T7. November two trips to OX, one with G3WVG. 2009 started with two short trips in quick succession. First in February to Mayreau (St Vincent) as J88XF, followed a month later by a BERU operation as 6Y8XF from Jamaica. A three-stop Pacific whirl-wind tour was made with Dennis F5VHY (G3MXJ) to FK, YJ and VK9N in late March. The remainder of 2009 was quiet on the DX-ped front, however 15,400 QSOs were made as G3TXF from home. A record year for G3TXF QSOs from home! 2010 was another relatively quiet year with just one major trip (as part of the four-op TX4T operation from Tahiti in February) and a small trip to SV5 and SV9 with G3SXW in October. |
